Meet the Artist Behind the Drawings

Greetings!

My name's Bylur and I'm a fantasy artist who LOVES to draw dragons! I've been drawing dragons since 2019(how crazy!) & I cannot get over them. Who couldn't love a mythical creature that hoards treasure, can breathe fire, and fly?!? Anyway, I'm also into the fictional series Wings of Fire and you can probably guess why (haha!). I've created three main Wings of Fire OCs, Mudslide, Kelp, and Blizzard and I love them to the three moons and back. Mudslide is my WoFsona and he's just my silly, goofy MudWing. On another note, Bylur's my newest original character AND he's my fursona/truesona! I wanted to be able to call an OC of mine that isn't from a specific fandom my sona for a long time and I'm SO EXCITED that that time is now. Bylur's uniquely me and he's perfect. Also, Bylur loves to collect little knick knacks such as pins and stickers.

Below, you will find the YT video version of this informative section. It's a half-hour long, so get your snacks ready!

Why Draw Dragons?

I've been asked this question so many times before, but I can never find a definite answer to why these mythical creatures have captivated me and my imagination. I couldn't pin-point a singular reason, but I do know that the majority of my fascination began when I read Wings of Fire. Fire-breathing lizards just sounded AMAZING! Plus, giving them the ability to reason and create a close and personal connection to dragons through an emotional attachment captivated me. I began to read WoF in 2018, one year before I drew my very first drawing. That first drawing was of Mudslide, my first dragon sona and OC. Mudslide only encompassed a small portion of who I am as a person, so I knew I had to design more OCs. Then came Kelp and Blizzard, completing the trifecta. Although, I must say that my truesona, Bylur, was inevitable. My three WoF OCs never really felt whole by themselves, they were always together and that's how I represented myself. Yet I wanted more than just pieces of who I am, but rather one character who was...me, thick and through.

In short, I've loved dragons for a long time.
